Rare Snowflake Ceiling Fixture by Paavo Tynell for Taito Oy

Finland | c. 1948 Polished & painted brass, brass wire, brass mesh, frosted glass. 3 x E26 (Edison) sockets & perforated brass diffuser bowl with rare frosted glass center. 16 brass rods suspend 48 “snowflakes” around the fixture, creating a playful diffusion of light.

Condition: Very good vintage condition. Metal shows overall signs of age, oxidation and wear. Snowflakes have been restrung at some point (this makes them more secure than the original spot weld). Some hooks (connecting each string of snowflakes to fixture) have been replaced. Wiring and sockets have recently been updated and the fixture is UL listed.
