Rare Ottoman by Gio Ponti

Italy | Walnut, brass, fabric. Large-scale bench, produced in Italy and sold here in NYC through Altamira. Wonderfully detailed undersides with incised walnut panels and cast brass legs. Upholstered in Loro Piana Sassicaia velvet fabric. This model is a tour-de-force and a highly sought-after Ponti design. Maker's label on underside. We have two examples, and they are being offered individually.

Condition: Very good condition. Wood has recently been sensitively touched up, surface-cleaned, and lightly waxed. It shows very well. Brass shows overall oxidation and age, which enhances the overall beauty of the piece. New upholstery has recently been added.
